The new Sony PlayStation console which many assumed would be the PS4, is rumored to be named PS Orbis with the release date is set for November or December of 2013. The name Orbis is taken from the Latin term Orbis Vitae meaning circle or life.

Kotaku, a gaming news site, is the originator of the news apparently from a trusted source. PS Orbis will use an AMD x64 CPU processing unit and a GPU provided by Southern Islands AMD. The GPU can manage high resolutions that are compatible with the next generation of high definition 3D-TVs.

It is also said that the PlayStation 4 will be incompatible with used games. The owner has to use the internet to sign up with new PlayStation Network account for the game to start. The account will come with every disc. To access the full game content, second hand buyers will have to pay an unlock fee.
